Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make the background transparent?
Yes! By default, the removed area becomes transparent. You can then save it as a PDF or ZIP of PNG images to preserve that transparency.
How do I remove a specific color?
In 'Basic' or 'Manual' mode, use the 'Target Color' picker to click on the color you want to remove (e.g., the yellow tint of old paper). Adjust the threshold to catch variations.
Will this remove the text too?
Not if used correctly. The threshold slider allows you to dial in the removal so it only affects the background color, keeping high-contrast text sharp and black.
Does it work on photos inside PDFs?
Yes. Our AI object detection ('Intermediate' mode) is designed to identify subjects in photos and remove the background around them.
Is it reversible?
While editing, yes. You can use the 'Restore' brush to bring back parts of the background you didn't mean to erase. Once you download the final file, the changes are permanent.
